Our Services

The service provided is tailored to the organisation's strategic requirements and can best be summarised by geography and client type: We also have an unrivalled network of strategic thinkers in the healthcare industry that are prepared to be part of our team where we think they will add value. This network consists of senior executives, academics, clinicians and policy analysts who are pleased to form part of Healthcare Partnering.

Hospital Systems
We recognise the need to respond to changes in healthcare delivery and medical technology and the impact this is having on the configuration of services. We work with top teams to help them think through the impact of such changes and how they can change their organisation to be best placed to meet the needs of payors and ultimately patients. This often involves difficult and sensitive decisions to be taken around reconfiguration of services which requires a balance to be reached between political, financial and clinical drivers. Getting key opinion formers particularly the Board and Clinicial Staff behind such decisions is a critical part of our approach.

Along with changes in service delivery come changes in the infrastructure required to deliver new models of healthcare and with major service reconfiguration there is the need also to focus on estate reconfiguration. We have amongst our team, leaders in the field of healthcare infrastructure with direct experience of major healthcare infrastructure projects including the introduction of new models of joint ventures and procurement which focus on capital investment and getting value from existing estate.

We have helped NHS Trusts in the UK to radically think through their service offering and respond to clinical drivers for change. This has led to new models of care with specialties being reconfigured to offer hospital and community care and joint ventures being developed between NHS Trusts and the independent sector.

Payors/Commissioners
The health insurance market is having to change in response to the availability of new treatments and increase in life expectancy. This is forcing insurers to develop new products and to have better data on actuarial risks so that informed decisions on products and pricing can be taken. We have worked with payors and commissioners to help develop partnerships with providers (private and public sector) that focus on the management of certain long term conditions, which has led to improved product, higher consumer satisfaction and managed costs.

We believe that there will be further opportunities for partnerships between insurers and providers along a managed care model; with its experienced team HPL can act as a bridge to help develop the contractual framework to make such partnerships work.

Funders
Healthcare remains an attractive investment class for funders/investors. We are working with funders/investors including some of the largest private equity groups advising on potential targets, integration strategy post acquisition and undertaking detailed due diligence as part of the deal team.

Through our extensive network across the healthcare marketplace we have effected introductions between investors and the Boards of target acquisitions. This has led to our team being recognised as trusted advisors, supporting the deal process through to successful conclusion.
